Research partnerships
Public research projects
With a portfolio of 15 EU-funded research projects, Bruegel fellows regularly have the opportunity to provide expertise and exchange views with the EU institutions’ policymakers, and to engage in academic networks across Europe. Bruegel provides regular briefings to the European Parliament, notably in the framework of the monetary dialogue with the European Central Bank and the parliamentary hearings of the Single Resolution Board’s chair. Periodically, Bruegel also delivers longer studies to the Parliament or the Commission. Bruegel is a partner in five multiannual research projects funded by DG RTD under the highly competitive programmes Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, collaborating with top European academic institutions to tackle current policy challenges. Projects range from designing emissions reduction policies (PARIS REINFORCE), solving the productivity puzzle (MICROPROD), to shaping the future of European integration and governance (EU3D). Bruegel is also participating in The Transatlantic Expert Group on the Future of Work project (co-financed by the European External Action Service), which is feeding the current and future EU-US policy dialogue.

Private research partnerships
Bruegel leads different initiatives to intensify and consolidate its links with top research institutes and private foundations around the world. The focus is always on quality content.
Bruegel has developed a number of relationships with its numerous partners and adopts a flexible approach to cooperation with activities focusing on intellectual dialogue through visiting fellowships, common publications, strategic initiatives support directed specifically at private foundations or events such as policy debates with relevant decision-makers and practitioners.

Visiting Fellowships
Bruegel’s Visiting Fellowship Programme is intended to encourage recognized research scholars, policymakers and practitioners to stay temporarily at Bruegel to conduct research work, to interact with its scholars and to bring insights to its members and audience.
In addition, Bruegel welcomes researchers supported by the European Commission’s Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships programme for International Researchers.
