As European economies move out of the most urgent phase of the pandemic crisis, governments are taking the rebuilding as an opportunity to reorient economies to a more sustainable model. But the task is not an easy one with complex trade-offs between providing a short-term stimulus to the economy and addressing the long-term challenge posed by global warming.
At this event Bruegel launched a new Blueprint: Greening Europe’s post-Covid-19 recovery, edited by Simone Tagliapietra, Guntram B. Wolff and Georg Zachmann. This book collects some of the prominent voices of the ‘Bruegel Green Recovery Group,’ an initiative supported by the European Climate Foundation, and aimed at providing a platform of dialogue between European high-level policymakers and top academics on the subject of the green recovery.
