Philip Colin Richards, a British-German citizen, joined Bruegel in June 2012 as a Research Intern. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from University College London and is currently completing  Masters degrees from Sciences Po Paris and Columbia University in New York. He acquired work experience at investment banks and is fluent in English, French and German.

“Whatever it takes” were the words that boosted market confidence and spread optimism throughout world media last week. However, interpretations to yesterday’s remarks couldn’t be more varied. While some media focused on the ECB’s willingness to intervene, others highlighted the financial markets’ disappointment.
