Constanze Picking joined the Europe Division at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce  as Senior Policy Adviser in September 2012. Her main focus is to facilitate business input and support for the U.S.-EU trade and investment negotiations. She devotes particular attention to ensure enhanced cooperation between US and EU business on issue such as regulatory cooperation in the manufacturing sector, trade facilitation, data protection and policies toward third countries, including Russia and China.

Picking is also the founder and executive director of the EU-China Business Dialogue (EUCBD), a platform for Chinese and European business leaders to address issues of common concern, and is a transatlantic fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

A German national, Picking is an expert on EU, U.S., and Chinese economic policies, particularly in the automotive sector, having worked for 12 years for Daimler in Brussels and Beijing. Before that, she worked for the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London, served as acting director in the newly created branch of the College of Europe in Poland and helped set up the European Department at the Central European University in Prague.

Picking holds a Master of Advanced European Economic Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges, and a Master of Arts in Political Science, Economics, and History from Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich. In addition to her native German, she is fluent in English and French and has knowledge of Mandarin. She is married with two children.
